Steinbach & Vollmann starts CO2-neutral mail dispatch

The company in Heiligenhaus turns GOGREEN customer

Heiligenhaus, 17.01.2013 – The locks and fittings manufacturer Steinbach & Vollmann will send business mail climate-neutral in future and therefore engages itself in the Climate Protection Programme of the Deutsche Post DHL.

Protecting and preserving have been an essential corporate commitment at STUV for 130 years through development, production and sales of security locks. Countless secure storage units and bank safe deposit boxes are, for example, equipped with safe locks “Made in Heiligenhaus”.

With the installation of a 400 m2 large solar thermal energy system back in 2008, Steinbach & Vollmann GmbH & Co. KG gave lasting expression to the fact that our climate also deserves adequate protection. The system supports the gas heating for the electroplating sinks and heating of the operating halls. The use of rain water and recyclable packaging materials also contributes to reducing the negative effects for the environment.

The decision to participate in the Climate Protection Programme of the Deutsche Post DHL is a further step in the direction of a climate-friendly future.  All standard, compact and large company letters will bear the GOGREEN label in future as sign of a CO2-neutral dispatch. The Deutsche Post calculates the CO2 emissions caused by the transport of letters to be able to neutralise them corresponding to the Kyoto Protocol within the scope of climate protection projects. This compensation is certified by an independent certification company according to the principles of ISO 14064.
